Mark has been a personal trainer for nearly 10 years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health, fitness and nutrition, from San Diego State University; where he interned as a strength and conditioning coach. He holds a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certification as a Personal Trainer and he is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Mark is a big proponent of posture and alignment; where he analyzes posture, gait and movement. He adjusts for the body’s natural tendency to compensate (for asymmetries and injuries) and brings the body back into balance. Mark enjoys motivating each person, by challenging them in an encouraging and positive way, helping them reach their full potential. His goals are his clients’ goals.
Growing up, Mark has always had a passion and love for fitness. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman/ Rifleman. While serving in the military he sustained an injury. When doctors couldn’t understand the genetic condition that causing him crippling lower back pain, he vowed to learn as much as he could about the human body. Never wanting anyone to experience the same pain as he did, he fell in love with person training; it combined two things, his love for being active and his passion for helping others.
His training philosophy: Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was the human body. It’s just as Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Everyday you take a step to enrich your life, you are one step closer to achieving any goal that you desire.
